The Case:

The 42.5mm case of this Seiko 5 Sports Street Fighter Chun Li SRPF17K1 is crafted from stainless steel, the crown is located at the 4 o’clock marker and it is protected by a crown guard. On top of the case sits the decorative blue bezel, which incorporates Chun Li’s blue and golden dress. The hour markers are presented in an opulent gold and comes in the form of Roman numerals. The edge of the bezel has been knurled to allow for days rotation. The case also features a crown at the 4 o’clock position. On the back of the case there is an inscribing of the controller command for Chun Li’s signature move, the ‘Spinning Bird Kick’, as well as the Street Fighter logo and the serial number of the model.

The Dial:

The sunburst metallic blue dial is accentuated by opulent golden accents, bringing the character’s dress to life. The 12 o’clock marker is replaced by the character’s distinctive collar, while the spiked 6 and 9 o’clock markers are inspired by Chun Li’s bracelet, which functions as a counter balance when she delivers her famous lightening kick. The remaining hour markers have been replaced by silver diamond like markers, and a day date window replaces the 3 o’clock marker. A bold silver hour hand set occupies the centre of the dial. The ever-present Seiko 5 Sports logo is situated beneath the 12 o’clock marker.

The Strap:

The blue alligator embossed strap has been backed with the dragon pattern from Chun Li’s waist belt. White stitching runs around the outer edge of the dial. It fastens easily using a standard buckle.

The Functions:

The Seiko 5 Sports range boast Seiko’s new upgraded 4R36 automatic. It is the same movement that is found in more expensive Seiko models, such as the ‘Turtle’ that belongs to the Prospex range. The movement consists of 24 jewels and it operates at 21,600 beats per hour. This ensures the watch has 40 hours of power reserve. It includes Seiko Diashock, which essentially protects the inner mechanisms from any damage the watch may sustain if it were to be dropped or knocked. It is expected to either gain or loose between +45 / -35 seconds per day. Finally, this watch has a water resistance of 100 metres, making it suitable for swimming and snorkelling.
